That Nook! He’s so Greedy!

Date: May 31th
Start time: 1pm CT
Game: Animal Crossing: City Folk (Wii)

Over the weekend I did two broadcasts for Animal Crossing: City Folk. First off, in my time of streaming, I will say that Nintendo games bring the best people together. Everyone is extremely friendly. I’ve been introduced to a number of awesome individuals and all of you are the reasons why I do this regularly. It isn’t for the money that is made, because I make and take ZERO dollars. It’s not for the sake of fame, because frankly, I don’t care for it. I want to mesh with people that have great personalities that matches with my own and Nintendo games do this very thing.

With that all said, I started the first stream in the evening and I found out early on that is a huge flaw when it comes to streaming Animal Crossing, because everything is CLOSED! Luckily, I was able to do an early Afternoon broadcast the next day, since I was having company over to watch WWE’s Elimination Chamber that evening. I was happily introduce to a number of people overseas in England and in Germany. It’s really awesome to have some International flare, they were awesome to have.

The chat overall was very positive and they seem to taken a liking in the gambling system powered by Revlo.co. I wasn’t able to make a lot of progression in Animal Crossing, aside from payment of my mortgage and farming for animals for my museum. I certainly look forward to playing Animal Crossing very soon. It also opened my eyes to consider doing more streams during peak hours for people in Europe. They need love too. :)

Here are some highlights from the last 2 days:

Revlo seems to be very favored in the chat. I believe it helped make the stream a little more enjoyable with a simple luck based game. I plan on running with this from now on, unless it decides to do something completely different, which I do not expect. The stream quality was good, I noticed a few dropped frames, but nothing major. Audio levels were good. Wii audio is a little tricky.

The Zombies are Coming! Again.

Date: May 29th
Start time: 8pm CT
Game: Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare (PC)

The 2nd session of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare was no regular session. I tested out some new bot functionality that involved betting on games I played and included some random chance base gambling. Overall, it was positive with those who played.

I really do love when other PvZ players come in and share their tips and achievements. It shows how loyal a community that game has. Everyone is also really nice, which is refreshing. I can say it has me hooked to play even more!

You can tell that my gameplay has improved over the weeks, and all the credit goes to my viewers for chiming in on when I could be doing things better. Thank you all for your help!

This stream was the first session for Ankhbot. I like the wealth of functionality, and you can tell a lot of thought was put into the bot. There were some minor inconveniences with resizing windows and some UX related improvements, but no deal breakers.

I was just invited to a private beta for Revlo. It offers what seems to be a cleaner loyality bot program. I will be testing that out more, but based on what I’ve used thus far, this seems to be a better solution.

Getting back into the world that is Garden Warfare. I’ve been having this itch to play and it’s still very fun! I was off and on for the most part and it was your standard affair. Here’s a nice highlight:

Yeah…. let’s just say that got mixed reviews.

I started playing around with AnkhBot. I’m liking the interface and the functionality of it all. I’m going try-out some of the currency options to help build a loyalty point program that I want to start implementing, if it makes sense.

Time to finish out Punch-out!!

Date: May 27th
Start time: 8pm CT
Game: Punch-out!! (Wii)

With only a couple fighters before earning the championship, 2 hours of stream should be more than plenty, right? Well, it was the right amount, with one hour each being used per fighter.

I have to say the gameplay is real rough, but there was light at the end of the tunnel. Here are the TL;DR videos:

The Stream ran pretty smoothly tonight. I was too busy raging over the game to take notice of any of the tech side.

Where’s Mike Tyson?

Date: May 26th
Start time: 8pm CT
Game: Punch-out!! (Wii)

The day is here! I was really excited to do my first playthrough Punch-out!! for the Wii via my Wii U. It’s a very niche game that is a reboot of the original NES version of Mike Tyson’s Punch-out!! minus Mike Tyson.

The struggle was real with navigating through the menu options with the Wiimote. It wasn’t fun then, and it’s still not fun now. I thought it was really cool that you can play with the nunchuck and a Wii balance board. Likely something I will try out in the future, but I wanted to keep this simple, because I don’t need added complexity in my gaming life. ;)

I opted for the traditional NES like controls on the Wiimote. The first few matches were pretty easy as expected. The more I progressed, the more I realized how long it’s been since I’ve played any Punch-out!! My reliable chat was helpful in guiding me through the struggle and making PROGRESS! Especially from new viewers who were well versed with the game. The struggle is realer than real with this great highlight:

The stream went offline for a few minutes. Based on the VOD, it was a brief second, but with Twitch Delay, it was difficult to troubleshoot the issue. Minor glitch, no harm done. It was likely my Internet. I’ve started doing some research on different bots that are out there, aside from Moo. I’m looking into the idea of a point system that can be used to redeem for rewards. It’s in the dreaming stage right now, but I want to do something to award my regulars/viewers. There are a lot of options, but a lot of them seem janky.
