Started another session of Don’t Starve where I left off on a character around Day 22ish. I decided to listen to one of my viewers that have never played the game and I died. :|
Overall, it’s your standard affair. While I personally enjoy the game, it is one of those games that have a slower pace. It’s going to still be in my rotation, but if our community isn’t down with it, we may see less and less of this game. Let me know what you guys think!
No highlights here. But there was a constant obsession for poop.

Game: GTA V (PC), Super Mario 3D World (Wii U), & Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare (PC)
Started things off with some GTA V per request of one of my viewers. We did the standard affair of heists and missions, and it was generally fun. I personally just don’t enjoy it as much as other games. There are some great highlights from it though!
I ended up asking my chat what games they wanted to see and opted for Super Mario 3D World. Having previously beaten the game last stream, we were doing some of the “extra credit” stages and may were they hard. After passing a few stages, I did another game change over to Plants vs. Zombies for the rest of the evening. Here I was able to enjoy playing with a couple of my viewers and it was good to see how good they were compare to my novice level. ;)
Overall, it was one of the more active streams as I did go for 8 hours! This is the longest I’ve gone personally for my own channel, aside from some 24 hours streams done for charity. I picked up a lot of viewers thanks to a raid from GamerRiku and some avid late night/early morning players of PvZ. It was a lot of fun and worth the time spent.
Streaming Tech
I implemented some extra command timers on my moobot and they were a bit frequent. I had some comments of chat going over game chat so keeping both of things in mind. Also, turn off all AVG alerts!

Game: Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare (PC)
I had swapped out Super Monkey Ball for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare for a viewer. Unfortunately, they didn’t come by to watch. :(
The stream went well and I had a very active chat tonight. It was quite fun. However, the stream was plagued with a number of issues in the game itself. Sticker packs wouldn’t open, packs that I did open will suddenly disappear. I hope things will improve the next time we play.
Streaming Tech
I changed up our encoding to Medium. The streaming quality looked slightly improved, but marginal at best. I will continue with this new setting to see how other games appear. I made some improvements with the overlay with the inclusion of chat. I did notice the webcam being out of sync. Will try to fix that tomorrow.

Game: Mario Kart 8 (Wii U)
It has been a while and a half since I’ve Mario Kart 8, so I was really looking forward to this. With any Mario Kart game, you need a few warm up races, so I started off the stream finishing in 11th place!
As the races go on, I started getting better and better and ended up adding 200 points to my VR. I was pretty happy about that.
I’m starting to gain a good number of regular viewers and they’re always entertaining to chat with. I really do hope that continues because it really makes broadcasting way more fun.
I also got to play with one of my viewers who was very knowledgeable in Mario Kart and played a few races including 200cc. It was mind boggling fast!
I had the stream go completely offline. I pretty sure it was a fluke and it may be because of XSplit’s new updates. Other than that, things went smoothly

Game: Super Mario 3D World (Wii U)
After a brief day off, we jumped back into Super Mario 3D World. Prior to the stream, I was reading my brand new coin collecting book, so it threw me off when it came to getting ready for the stream. The gameplay really showed because I stunk!
There was good conversation around what our hobbies are. One of my viewers collected video games so I showed him the Retron 5 and 99gamers.com.
One of my regulars asked how I got my start into streaming. It allowed me to go into good detail about it.
I learned a good protip today, make sure to unhost any channels before broadcasting. I basically locked out any desktop users from seeing my stream. Oops. I noticing some of my microphone levels spiking. It’s due to me being too loud. Something for me to keep in mind. I do apologize for your ears.
